Project Description

The magnificent five stars’ hotel “Aquapura“, opened in 2007, born out of a nineteenth century Manor that served as the setting for the film “Valley Abraham” by Manuel de Oliveira, was the target of a PER in 2013 when the Fund Explorer Investments bought it. Although the unit still belongs to the Fund Discovery, the hotel is now managed by the Thai group Six Senses, which started its hotel operations in Europe by the Douro.

The luxury development, opposite to the city of Régua has a spa with 10 treatment rooms, 50 rooms and 21 villas scattered throughout the property. The refurbishment works, run by an American architecture firm, had the collaboration of national engineering offices which, in a time trial, allowed the opening in just over eight months.
